Boy in the Box: Joseph Augustus Zarelli 

Joseph was beaten and starved and yet had a recent haircut. Surgical scars were noted at his ankle, groin, and chin (L-shaped scar).

The cause of death was listed as a homicide: blunt force trauma.

 

Besides the brutal beating and the surgical scars, there was evidence to support a drowning. One hand and both feet showed “washer woman” which can be seen as wrinkles that occur with exposure to water.
